John’s career with J.J. Ruddy began in 1993 when he was appointed Vice-President of the agency. His vast knowledge of the commercial lines market allowed him to broaden the capabilities of the agency’s commercial lines division to service main street business owners as well as sophisticated risks including power plants, publically traded companies and commercial real estate developers.
In 2005, John succeeded his father as the fourth President of J.J. Ruddy Insurance. Today the agency continues to evolve and grow under his leadership. John’s experience has been leveraged by a number of industry organizations including the Travelers Insurance Company where he has served on the local Agents Advisory Council for four years.
John has been a member of the Medford Rotary Club since 1994, serving as President and on various Boards of Directors. In 2006, John was recognized by the Medford Rotary Club with the Paul Harris Fellow - honoring his many contributions to the community. John also sits on the Board of Corporators at Hallmark Health Systems where he serves on the Quality and Risk Management Committee
John is a 1992 graduate of Saint Anselm College. His unique industry training includes the Aetna Life and Casualty Home Office School and an internship with all the departments in the commercial lines division of Aetna Property Casualty. John also holds the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation.
